
Robert "Bob" LeRoy Hudson, age 77, of Dickens, Nebraska died on Monday, June 29, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on May 3, 1943 in North Platte, Nebraska to Edwin and Ruth (Meyer) Hudson
Bob grew up in the Dickens/Hershey area of Nebraska and graduated from Hershey High School in 1961. He entered the U.S. Marine corp and served in Okinawa. He married Merlee Hemenway on August 11, 1964 in St. Francis, Kansas and after his discharge, they returned to Hershey where he worked at a gas station.
He moved to Golden, Colorado where he worked at Coors, bought a welding shop in Eddyville, worked for NPPD and owned a pivot company, Sandhills Service, which he was still operating.
Bob was a very respected man and helped out many of his customers night and day. He was a member of Maria Lutheran Church, Hershey American Legion, and past member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Golden, Colorado. He loved elk hunting and four wheeling through the mountains in his Toyota's. He welcomed family and friends into his home throughout the years.
Survivors include his wife, Merlee, of Dickens, Nebraska; six children, Nick (Faylene) Husdon of Dickens, Chad (LeAnn Amwig) Hudson of Hreshey, Nebraska, Kathy (Bill) Kelin of Battle Creek, Nebraska, Wade (Shannon) Hudson of Dickens, Laura (fiance Jimmy Knutson) Legg of North Platte, Nebraska, and River Hudson of Dickens; grandchildren, Ashlee (Moses) Hallsted of North Platte, Sierra (Justin McCurdy) Schumm of Hastings, Nebraska, Laynie Hudson of Tomball, Texas, Samantha (Brandon) Childress of Cleveland, Texas, Katrina Hudson of Cleveland, Texas, Josh Wilson of Cleveland, Texas, Cassandra Vencil of Battle Creek, Nebraska, Travis (Shelby) Kelin of Bellwood, Nebraska, Nate (Amanda) Klein of Bellwood, Tyler Klein of Schuyler, Nebraska, Reagan Hudson of Dickens, Rylan Hudson of Dickens, Hoyt Dancer of Dickens, and Easton Dancer of Dickens; great grandchildren, Brelee, Miles, Auria, Liberty, Rayna, Dominick, Harley, Barrett, and Brooks; brother, Louis Garnett (Barb) Hudson of Hershey, Nebraska; sisters, Denise Paul of Spring, Texas and Mary Tucker of Bullhead, Arizona; and numerous other family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Samuel; and brothers, Rodney and Royce.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Maria Lutheran Church, Hershey, Nebraska with the Reverend Jeff Cottingham officiating. Inurnment will follow at Dickens Cemetery. There will be a meal at the Legion hall in Hershey after the inurnment. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from Noon- 8:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, Nebraska which is in charge of arrangements for the family. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Adams & Swanson Funeral Home and the Maria Lutheran Facebook pages.
