    Carla Jean (Clarine) Quinn was born October 30, 1941, in Oxford, Nebraska to Maxwell Earl and May (Loper) Clarine. She grew up in Oxford and graduated high school in 1959. Carla enjoyed school and activities; bible school, 4-H, Girl Scouts, swimming, volleyball, softball, watching basketball, football and participating as a cheerleader. She also played the snare drum in the band for almost seven years. Carla graduated with a class of 18 as the Salutatorian. She was baptized in the Oxford Methodist Church and married there in August 1959 to Richard E. Quinn. Dick and Carla worked in competing grocery stores and moved in November of 1959 to Ogallala, Nebraska where Dick became a salesman for the Rainbow Bread Co. Gregory and Gina were born in Ogallala and Gary in McCook after the move to McCook with the bread company.

    Carla worked at McCook Lettering Service from 1971-2016. She enjoyed many family and friends and especially their three children; camping, boating and traveling with family. Their travels took them to Germany twice where Greg served in the Army. Other fun trips to Florida, Texas, Georgia, New Mexico, Hawaii and especially to Colorado.

    Having grandchildren: Erica Quinn, Max Quinn, Sasha Dorwart and Siera Dorwart was a great time, and then along came the greats: Millani, Masen, Marcello, Trey, Christian, Alexandria and Cage.

    Carla passed away early Wednesday morning, May 1, 2024 at The Grace Space Hospice in Lincoln.  She was 82 years of age.

    She is survived by sons, Gregory Quinn and Gary Quinn; daughter, Gina (Kraig) Dorwart; the above grands and greats; sister, Suzanne (Clarine) Shaw; sister-in-law, Kim Wilsey; many nieces and nephews, cousins and many special friends.

   Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Max and May Clarine; in-laws, Eugene and Maxine Quinn; brothers-in-law, Gerald Haffey, Larry Shaw and Phil Wilsey; nephew, Mark Shaw; and sister-in-law, Kay Haffey. 

    Cremation was chosen and services are scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday morning, June 8, 2024 at Memorial Methodist Church in McCook.  Inurnment in the Memorial Park Columbarium in McCook will follow services.
