Dennis Johnathen Wasson, born on June 17, 1954, in Palm Beach, FL, passed away June 13, 2024, in McCook, NE at the age of 69. Dennis was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend to many.

Dennis' journey began in the vibrant city of Palm Beach, FL, as the beloved son of George "Bud" Wasson. He spent his formative years navigating the diverse landscapes of Florida before embarking on a path of service and dedication. A proud alumnus of Coral Park High School in Miami, Florida, Dennis answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1973.

His military journey took him to various corners of the world - from basic training in Columbus, South Carolina, to engineering school in Virginia and finally stationed in Germany for three honorable years. As an electrical and mechanical engineer, Dennis exemplified courage and commitment in every role he undertook.

Transitioning to civilian life after six years of commendable service, Dennis found his niche as a skilled welder. His passion for craftsmanship extended beyond his professional endeavors; he was an avid enthusiast of race cars and tough trucks. Weekends were synonymous with roaring engines and fierce competitions as Dennis fearlessly navigated the local circuits alongside his father under the renowned car number #55.

In 2001, Dennis followed his family to Danbury where he embarked on a new chapter with Valmont for over eight prosperous years. His work ethic and dedication shone brightly in every task he undertook.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy cherished by his surviving father Bud Wasson, sister Karen (Craig) Porter, brothers James Wasson and Michael Wasson, niece Desiree Porter, nephews Christopher Porter and Donovan Porter, great niece Clementine Porter, great nephew Atticus Porter, and multiple aunts and cousins in the area. His memory will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable gentleman.
