The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and Board of Equalization will meet Monday, April 13, at the Lincoln County Courthouse in North Platte.
The commissioners meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room, followed by the Board of Equalization meeting at 9:15 a.m.
The commissioners will open with a prayer before considering approval of minutes from the April 6 meeting. A public comment period will also be held.
Items on the commissioners’ agenda include approval of claims and treasurer’s receipts, as well as a special designated liquor permit request submitted by DEAM LLC, doing business as Axes and Aces. The permit is for a reception scheduled June 6 at The Farmhouse. Commissioners will also receive and file fee reports from the Register of Deeds, County Sheriff, County Clerk, and Clerk of the District Court.
The board will then recess and reconvene as the Board of Equalization at 9:15 a.m. That agenda includes approval of minutes from the April 6 Equalization meeting, a public comment period, and consideration of certificates of correction and refund submitted by the County Assessor. The board will also review motor vehicle tax exemption applications submitted by the County Treasurer.
Following Equalization business, the board will reconvene as the Board of Commissioners.
At 9:30 a.m., commissioners are scheduled to hear an update from Holly Howe regarding the “Heartland Arts Helping Nebraskans” disaster fundraiser.
The agenda also notes the board may enter closed session, if necessary, to discuss matters including pending or imminent litigation, real estate purchases, security strategies, or personnel evaluations in order to protect reputations.
The meeting will conclude with time to hear concerns from elected officials and department heads, along with committee reports from commissioners.
The meeting is open to the public and will also be available for viewing online.
