Powerball Jackpot Hits $1 Billion; Remember to Play Responsibly

Lincoln, NE – July 18, 2023 – Two big jackpots are up for grabs in the next Powerball® and Mega Millions® drawings. Because of these high jackpots, the Nebraska Lottery reminds customers to play responsibly.

A string of drawings without a jackpot winner has grown the estimated Powerball jackpot to its highest level since January. There have been 38 consecutive drawings since April 22 without a jackpot winner. This run has grown the estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, July 19 drawing to $1 billion or $516.8 million with the cash option selected. This is the 3rd largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Mega Millions has also seen its jackpot grow over the last few months. There have been 25 drawings since April 21 without a jackpot winner. The estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, July 18 drawing is $640 million or $328.5 million with the cash option selected.

The dual jackpot runs have produced some large Nebraska winners.

  1. A $10,000 Mega Millions winning ticket for the April 25 drawing was sold at Speedee Mart 2855, 1220 N 1st Street in Norfolk.
  2. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the May 13 drawing was sold at Casey's #2716, 1610 Colfax Street in Schuyler.
  3. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the May 15 drawing was sold at Bakers #321, 505 N 155th Plaza in Omaha.
  4. A $10,000 Mega Millions winning ticket for the May 30 drawing was sold at Speedee Mart 2730, 4334 S 84th Street in Omaha.
  5. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the June 3 drawing was sold at Kum & Go #378, 14353 Q Street in Omaha.
  6. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the June 10 drawing was sold at Westco - KC's Short Stop, 2420 Box Butte Avenue in Alliance.
  7. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the June 19 drawing was sold at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh #2, 1515 N 84th Street in Lincoln.
  8. A $10,006 Mega Millions winning ticket for the June 30 drawing was sold at Main St Market, 401 So. Beltline Hwy. W. in Scottsbluff.
  9. A $10,000 Mega Millions winning ticket for the July 7 drawing was sold at Baker's #323 Fuel Center, 1615 N Bell Street in Fremont.
  10. A $50,000 Powerball winning ticket for the July 12 drawing was sold at Kum & Go #348, 12011 Blondo Street in Omaha.

The largest Mega Millions jackpot on record occurred in October 2018 when one winner in South Carolina won a $1.537 billion jackpot. The largest Powerball jackpot on record occurred in November 2022 when one winner in California won a $2.040 billion jackpot.
