Karen Ann Main, 60, of Stapleton, Nebraska, passed away January 22, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.  She was born June 20, 1962 to Benjamin and Mary Ann (Kramer) Fox in North Platte.

Karen graduated from Arnold High School with the class of 1980.  She attended Mid Plains Community College where she received her associate degree in accounting. Karen worked at several hotels in North Platte.  She married James Main on April 7, 1990 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Stapleton.  The couple farmed west of Stapleton on the Main Family Farm.  Most recently, Karen worked for the Catholic Churches in Stapleton, Arnold and Callaway.  She was secretary/treasurer for the rural fire board in Stapleton and secretary for the Senior Meals in Stapleton.  She enjoyed playing the piano and played some at church.  Karen was very much a perfectionist in every thing she did.  Family was the center of Karen’s life.

Karen is survived by her husband James Main, Stapleton, Nebraska; mother, Mary Ann Fox, Arnold, Nebraska; four children Jamie (Sam) Ascherl, Cairo, Nebraska, Kellie (Lane) Vasa, Ashland, Nebraska, John (Mikinzi Nilsen) Main, Stapleton, Nebraska, Kurtis (Kira Johnson) Main, Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Wade Ascherl, Scarlett Ascherl, Elijah Ascherl, Maeve Vasa, Asher Vasa; four siblings, Jim Fox, Stapleton, Marvin (Nancy) Fox, Arnold, Nebraska, Kathy Fox, North Platte, Nebraska, Kevin (Heather) Fox, Stapleton, Nebraska; along with many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Fox; brothers Byron Fox and Roger Fox; parents-in-law Cecil and Marjean Main; sister-in-law Eloise Jones.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Stapleton, Nebraska.  Reverend Thomas Gudipalli as celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Loup Valley Cemetery.   Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Stapleton, Nebraska.  Visitation will be 9 – 4, Friday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
