
Stephen Kimble Hill, 72, of North Platte, passed away September 12, 2021, in Trenton, Nebraska. He was born December 17, 1948, to Robert and Norma (Wolfe) Hill in McMinnville, Oregon.
Stephen grew up in Iowa and attended high school there. He met Barbara in 1971, they were married on August 16, 1974, in National City, California. To this union 5 children were born, Jodie, Stephanie, Nathan, Bonnie and Katie. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1974 and served for 6 years. In 1979 they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where Stephen worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer. He loved fishing, camping and cooking. Making burritos was his specialty, sometimes inventing his own kinds of burritos. He was a master of biscuits and gravy and oatmeal cookies. He also enjoyed music, playing his guitar, loved riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Barb Hill; children, Jodie (Vernon Roepke) Hill, Stephanie Hill, Nathan Hill, Bonnie (Terry) Collins and Katie (Michael) Sheets; grandchildren, Taylor, Caleb, Elisha, Andrew, Stevie, Bailey, Alexandria, Madison, Vadania, Kane, and Amelia May.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Norma Hill.

Celebration of Life will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Harvest Christian Church with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the Celebration of Life. Burial will follow the service at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be noon – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
