Shirley Ann Dorram, age 87, of North Platte, passed away at Hilltop
Estates in Gothenburg on December 10, 2022.
Shirley was born in Kearney on March 9, 1935, to George and Minnie
Prather. The family moved to North Platte in the early 1940's and
Shirley went on to graduate from North Platte High School in 1952.
On September 14, 1952, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert 'Bob'
Dorram at the First Christian Church in North Platte. They moved to
Cheyenne, WY, for a couple years then returned to North Platte where
they settled and started a family. Shirley was a stay-at-home mom to
three children and was involved with the kids activities which ranged
from Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls to P.T.A. and various church activities.
Shirley was a longtime member of First Christian Church. She loved her
family and always wanted the best for them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, George and
Minnie Prather; and brother-in-law, Dick Shepherd.
Survivors include her children, Tim Dorram of Omaha and Patty (Jay)
Wonch and Betty Jo Hernandez of North Platte; grandchildren, Chad
(Angela) Dorram, Jeremy (Kim) Wonch, Casey (Marcy) Dorram, Danielle
(Matt) Bialas and Christopher Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Dustin,
Taylor, Damion, Tylan, Briley, Levi, Turner Thomas, Haley, Mazy, Jazmin and Ruby; her sister, Jacque Shepherd of North Platte; and other family.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at
Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Emily McCreery officiating. Burial
will follow in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m.
to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is
in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at

provided Shirley with excellent hospice care.
