Police Locate Suspect Following Disturbance in North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Aug. 1, 2025) — A man sought by North Platte police in connection to a reported disturbance has been located and taken into custody, authorities said Thursday evening.

Officers responded to a call in the 2600 block of West 1st Street on the afternoon of July 31 regarding a disturbance in the area. As part of their initial investigation, police identified 40-year-old Andrew Liewer as a suspect and requested public assistance in locating him.

Liewer, described as a white male approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds, was last seen wearing a red shirt—possibly marked with the number 44—along with a black ball cap and shorts. Investigators believed he may have sustained lacerations to his arms and could have been in need of medical attention.

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, the North Platte Police Department confirmed Liewer had been located and apprehended. Details surrounding the incident and Liewer’s arrest have not yet been released.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
