SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a weekend shooting that killed a 17-year-old identified as Valincio Hill of Wichita and injured a 41-year-old woman.

Just after 8:3o p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a shooting at a residence in the 1600 block of South Water in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers located Hill and the woman who had been shot.  Both victims were taken to an area hospital for medical treatment.  Hill died  and the woman victim remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to Davidson.

The investigation revealed several individuals were at the home on Water, including Hill and the female victim.  Unknown suspects approached the home on foot and fired multiple shots from the street, striking the victims and surrounding property.

This was not a random incident, and a lack of all cooperation in this investigation has affected investigators from learning all the details of this case.
