Beverly J. Kelley, 86, of North Platte, NE, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at North Platte Care Center.

She was born on October 2, 1935 in North Platte, the daughter of Milton Peter and Sallie Elizabeth (Gosnell) Jepsen.
Beverly graduated from North Platte High School in 1953.  She married her first husband, Richard N. Housman on April 16, 1956 at First Baptist Church in North Platte.  Following the passing of Richard, she married her second husband, Lester Kelley at the Assembly of God Church in North Platte on April 16, 1988.  She worked as a teacher’s assistant for North Platte area grade schools for several years and was licensed as a cosmetologist on March 23, 1987.  Beverly enjoyed ceramics, traveling and camping with her family.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Those left to cherish Beverly’s memory are her children, Bevie Swanson (Al Mueller) of North Platte, Richard M. Housman of North Platte, and Theresa Swanson (Tim Harn) of Douglas, WY, step-daughter, Joleen Minyard (Ray) of Broken Arrow, OK ; grandchildren, Scott Swanson (Shannon Chandler), Jamey Swanson (Rachel), Richard M. Housman Jr. (Tracy), David Housman, Amber Alcott (Richard), Heather Dircksen (Travis), Bruce Swanson (Crystal), and step-grandson Mike Minyard (Katie Spiro-Minyard) of Riverside, CA; great-grandchildren, Emma Elise Swanson, Leo Housman, Tucker Housman, Shaeley Dircksen, Travis Dircksen Jr., Tylan Dircksen, Vanessa Swanson, Emma Swanson, Patrick Carland; brother and sister’s in law and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard N. Housman in 1985, second husband, Lester Kelley in 2005; son, Bruce Housman, son-in-law, Kenneth Swanson, brother, Martin Jepsen; sisters, Viola Dickenson and Laura Leaf, great-grandson Franklin Carland and several nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Michael Reed officiating (family requests casual attire be worn).  Burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Veterans Cemetery near Maxwell.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 18th from 1 to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the family for designation to organizations for the humane treatment of animals.
