Harvey Duane Wilson of Cozad passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Kearney Regional Hospital at the age of 84. Harvey was born July 26, 1938 in Kansas to John and Nellie (Pentecost) Wilson. He married Phyllis Bickford on March 7, 1960. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Judy, Mary and Casey. They lived in Kearney and worked at the Turkey Plant in Gibbon, then moving to Gibbon to work on the Turkey Ranch. In 1970 they moved to Cozad where Harvey worked for over 30 years at Monroe Auto. Harvey loved to farm and raise hogs, ducks, geese, chickens, cows and turkeys. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt, play Keno and watch Husker football. He played basketball, slow pitch softball and loved to drink beer with “Old Red” the sow. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; sisters, Bonnie, Margie, Josephine, Erma and Verna; brothers, Kenny, Jerome and Dennis. Survivors include his children, Judy Wilson of Cozad, Mary (Gaylord) Stauffer of Lincoln and Casey (Deanna) Wilson of Cozad; grandchildren, Tommy (Esther) Wilson, Jeff Stauffer, Christina Stauffer, Zachary (Abigail) Stauffer, Kayla Stauffer, Heather Wilson and Luke, Cody (Shelbie) Wilson, Jared Wilson and Kristen, Timmy Wilson; great grandchildren, Bentley Wilson, Elijah Ross and Faith Ross; brother, John (Arlene) Wilson; sister-in-law, Sue Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. Services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Monday from  5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
