
Verdena E. Knott, age 73, of North Platte, Nebraska died March 12, 2021 at Swedish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She was born on February 8, 1948 in North Platte, Nebraska to Clarence and Ida (Haddock) Mathers. Verdena graduated from North Platte High School. On January 18, 1969, she married Douglas Knott in North Platte. The couple moved to Ogallala, Nebraska to help family ranch, then moved to Arthur, Nebraska to work on the Triangle Ranch. Later the couple moved to North Platte, Nebraska where Verdena stayed home to raise her family.
Verdena will be remembered for her unconditional love, loving fiercely and strong, and acting as the center of her family. She enjoyed crafting and baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an eye for measurement and only Dough could hang things straight.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Doug Knott of North Platte, Nebraska; three children, Todd Knott, Tracy (Kylee) Knott, and Tina (Justin) Petre, all of North Platte, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren, Ann (Benjamin) Martin of North Platte, NE, Kalab Knott of Lincoln, NE, Keegan (Alexis Bacon) Knott, Rylan Axtell, Izaiah Petre, Ayden Knott, and Ian Pitre, all of North Platte, NE; 4 great grandchildren, Lucas Martin, Nellie, Benjamin and Preston Knott; a brother, Daniel (Martha) Mathers of Maxwell, NE; a sister, Patricia Albers of Sidney, NE; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Marlene and Karen; and a daughter-in-law, Terri Knott.

Services will be 11:30 Friday March 19, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with the Rev. Clint Walker officiating. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 12-7 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
