The North Platte Catholic School System is off to an exciting start this fall, with enrollment on the rise and a full schedule of student activities. Wendy Dodson and Gwen Covey discussed the happenings at NPCS.

“Fall is always a very busy time at our school system with lots of events and activities. And we're especially looking forward to our biggest fundraiser of the year, Green, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks,” said Dodson.

Enrollment at North Platte Catholic Schools is up this year. Covey shared, “As you know, we just started school in August, and it's exciting to share that enrollment is up again this year. Every year, there's always some tendency to have some transfers, but we're excited to share that our numbers are back up. And what I do is I tour families, and if there's an interest for students to come our way, then I get to show them our school and what our school has to offer. And that's probably my favorite part of the job.”

G.R.E.E.N., taking place on October 25, plays a vital role in supporting the school’s operations and endowment. “This is our annual dinner fundraising gala, and it began in 2003. And really what it does is helps the endowment reach an annual goal for funding the school budget. So it's a really fun event. It's the biggest party of the year, I think, a great, fun event to plan. But it really is very important for the general operations of our school,” said Covey.

Even if attendees can’t make it in person, they can still participate. “The silent auction is completely online. So that's a great way to participate even if you can't attend. So just North Platte Catholic Schools on Facebook. The link is there. You just have to click the link and sign yourself up,” Covey explained.

With a focus on community, education, and fun, this fall promises to be an exciting season at North Platte Catholic Schools.
