Weather permitting, construction work is set to begin May 18 on Interstate 80 between Brady and Gothenburg, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
The project will take place from reference post 205.61 to reference post 213.25. Paulsen Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for the work.
The project includes bridge repairs and asphalt paving. Traffic will continue to move through the area with temporary lane closures in place during construction. A 12-foot width restriction will also be in effect.
NDOT said the project is expected to be completed in October 2026.
Officials said the goal of the project is to preserve the transportation system, improve reliability and maintain mobility for motorists traveling through the area.
Drivers are reminded to use caution in and near work zones, buckle up and avoid distracted driving.
