Leatrice Sexton of Cambridge age 86, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on November 15, 2023. She was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on October 18, 1937, to Vaughn and Betty (Bell) Davis. Leatrice grew up and attended Mineral Wells High School, graduating in 1955. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Harden Simmons University. Leatrice taught for several years in Texas. On August 24, 1963, she was united in marriage to Stanley Sexton.
The couple moved to Cambridge, NE where Leatrice taught high school English in Holbrook for many years. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) and local chapter Alpha Omicron, including serving as State President. She traveled to numerous state and national conventions and developed lifelong friends through the philanthropic activities. They would travel and winter in Yuma, AZ. Leatrice enjoyed volunteering at the Cambridge Hospital Thrift Shop, and was active with the United Methodist Church. Leatrice and Stan enjoyed traveling, including trips to Texas, farm shows and auctions, and spending parts of winters in Yuma, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vaughn and Betty, a brother, Herb Davis.
Leatrice is survived by her husband, Stan of Cambridge, daughter, Alison Sexton of Fairfield, CT and a sister-in-law, Mary Davis of Weatherford, TX.
Memorial services will be held at the Trinity Methodist Church of Cambridge on November 21,2023 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Tim Burke officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.
