Press Release | North Platte Community College

The North Platte Community College volleyball team will begin accepting pre-orders for Sweet Saloon cinnamon rolls June 10.
The Sweet Saloon is a fundraiser for Knights Volleyball. It's hosted every year in conjunction with NebraskaLand Days, the official state celebration.
"We always enjoy doing Sweet Saloon and being a part of NebraskaLand Days," said Alexa McCall, NPCC Knights head volleyball coach. "Our players get to see how well the community supports our program and we are always so thankful for the people and businesses that buy each year!"
The cinnamon rolls have been a staple of the NebraskaLand Days celebration for years. Athletes, coaches and volunteers spend days preparing and baking the delightful treats, with the proceeds going toward scholarships for NPCC volleyball student-athletes.
"We have a great group of volunteers who help make the cinnamon rolls, and we're also grateful to the local businesses that allow us to use their locations for distribution,” McCall said. “We especially want to thank McDaid Elementary for graciously allowing us to use their kitchen and Hiland Dairy for generously donating the products that help make this fundraiser possible.”
The actual event is June 16-18, but it's recommended that orders be called in or placed online ahead of time to ensure rolls are available. Pre-orders can be placed online at mpcc.edu or by calling (308) 535-3696. Orders must be submitted by noon on the day before pickup.
The cost is $30 per dozen and half dozen orders will also be accepted.
The cinnamon rolls can be picked up at McDaid Elementary, the Do-It Center, Westfield Pharmacy, Sports Shoppe and the Welcome Center on NPCC's South Campus.
A delivery option is also available with a $5 fee for those who order a minimum of two dozen rolls.
