The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will hold its next meeting on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Lincoln County Courthouse. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room and will be streamed live on the county’s YouTube channel.

The meeting will open with a prayer, followed by approval of minutes from the December 29 commissioners meeting. A public comment period will be held early in the meeting, giving residents a chance to speak on items not already on the agenda. Commissioners will also review claims and the county treasurer’s receipts.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will recess and reconvene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization. During that meeting, members will approve prior minutes, hear public comments, and consider certificates of correction and refunds submitted by the county assessor. Motor vehicle tax exemption applications from the county treasurer will also be reviewed.

The commissioners are scheduled to reconvene at 9:30 a.m. to consider an application from Primivito and Renee Franco for the Franco Subdivision. The proposed subdivision is located at 1845 E. Trail Road in a Rural Estates Residential District.

At 9:40 a.m., Jim Hawks will provide an update on the Nebraska International Port of the Plains. This will be followed at 9:55 a.m. by an update on exterior courthouse lighting from Building and Grounds Director Booker Boyer, with possible action by the board.

Later in the meeting, at 10:10 a.m., commissioners will discuss a salary resolution that would set elected officials’ salaries for the 2027–2030 term.

The agenda also allows time for a possible closed session to discuss legal matters, real estate, security issues, or job performance, if needed. The meeting will conclude with concerns from elected officials or department heads and committee reports from the commissioners.

The board may take agenda items out of order and may enter a closed session at any time as allowed by law.
