
Elizabeth Irene Blaylock, age 71, of North Platte, Nebraska, died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
Elizabeth was born to Ollie Cullen and Opal Alice (Barnum) Johnson on May 21, 1949 in North Platte, where she grew up.
Elizabeth married Marion Zulkoski in Sacremento, California and they made their home in North Platte, Nebraska. After Marion died in 1979, Elizabeth wed Sterling Eugene Blaylock, Sr. on November 11, 1984 and they continued living in North Platte. They were together nearly 20 years when he died in 2003.
Years ago, Elizabeth taught Sunday School at the Berean Fundamental Church, then attended New Life Assembly Church iof Kearney during the 1980's. Elizabeth loved her family and raised her grandkids as their foster parent.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marion Zulkoski and Sterling Blaylock, Sr; a son, John Blaylock and daughter, Loretta Buger; her parents, Ollie and Opal Johnson; brothers, Roy, Cecil, Marvin, and Robert Nichols and Boyd and Harold Johnson; and her sisters, Frances Ann Johnson, Mae Etta J. Martin, Virginia Johnston, and Opal Johnson.
Elizabeth leaves behind her children, Sterling, Jr (Elaine) Blaylock of Hartsville, South Carolina, Earl Blaylock, David (Tina) Blaylock, and Debra Heckle all of Kankakee, Illinois, Edward Blaylock Sr, Roxanne Foust, and Cynthia Blaylock all of North Platte, Nebraska, Blaine Blaylock and Felicia Dardar of Jackson, Missouri, and Cynthia Griecie; her brother, Ron (Judy) Johnson of North Platte, Nebraska; as well as 7 grandkids, 6 great-grandkids and other family.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte, Nebraska with Pastor Vaughn Fahrenbruck officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
