
Wilbur Louis Allen, 88, of Stapleton passed away November 3, 2021 at home. He was born on December 16, 1932 to Louis and Mary Allen in Tryon.
Wilbur grew up in Tryon and North Platte. On February 13, 1954 he married Betty Leiter in Sterling, Colorado. They made their home in McCook then in 1961 they moved to Denver. Wilbur was a butcher and worked in a packing plant. They moved to Stapleton in 1985 and opened Allen’s Lunch Café. They also raised emus and ostriches.
Wilbur enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, painting and being with family and friends. He had a strong faith, loved his church and spending time with his family.
Survivors include daughter, Vicky Allen of Stapleton; granddaughter, Jennifer Allen; grandson, Jerimiah Heisz; nine grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two special nephews, J.P. Wallace and Darren Wallace; two sisters, Karen Empfield of Stapleton and Zola (Bill) Karn of Stapleton; numerous other family members and friends.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary; wife, Betty; children, Wilbur Jr., Harold, Ronald, Steve Allen; granddaughters, Trina, Michelle, and Lindsay; great grandson, Geoffery.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday. November 13, 2021 at Gandy Community Church with Pastors Frank Scott and Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery near Tryon. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., Friday, November 12, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
