
Leila Joy (McArthur) Barrett was born August 24, 1944, in Stratton, Colorado, to Velma Merle (Smelker) and John Dean McArthur. Leila attended Haigler High School, graduating with the class of 1962.
After graduation, Leila began a career in health care as a CNA. She worked in various nursing homes, hospitals and for Home Health Care.
Leila enjoyed making things and was very crafty. She crocheted blankets for all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and relatives. She had a blanket ready to go for a new Great-Grandchild just arriving. Leila also painted, baked wedding cakes, and collected angels. Leila especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Leila passed away November 30, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska. She was 77 years of age.
Leila was preceded in death by her father, John Dean McArthur; brother, John McArthur; and son, Michael James Moreau.
Survivors include: mother, Velma McArthur of Imperial, NE; sons, Clint Moreau, MO, Nathan Moreau and wife Mary Beth, Benkelman, NE,
Benjamin Moreau and wife Lacey, Cheyenne, WY and son, Marion Barrett, MO; grandchildren, Shane Moreau, Hunter Moreau, Lauryn Moreau, Alexandria Moreau, Ashton Moreau, Keanu Barrett and Airyana Moreau; great-grandchildren, J.D. Moreau and Ashland Fura; sisters, Linda Wilste, Grand Junction, CO and Meryl McArthur, McCook, NE;
brothers: Terry McArthur and wife Ella, Wray, CO and Lonny McArthur, Wray, CO; and sister-in-law: Paula McArthur, McCook NE.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
