
Arthur John Werner, age 59, of Palisade, Nebraska passed peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2020 surrounded by family at his son's home in Lincoln, Nebraska.
John (as he was known) was born on January 16, 1961 in Sacramento, California. He graduated in 1979 from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacremento. John moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma and joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged.
John married Tamara (Tammy) Merriam in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on February 14, 1990. The couple lived in Texas and Oklahoma before settling in Palisade, Nebraska in 1992. John was employed as a semi-truck driver for many years and was a mechanic on the side. He enjoyed dirt track racing and working on race cars.
Survivors include his son, Arthur C. "Ace" Werner and fiance Hannah Schultz of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters Crystal Werner of Kearney, Nebraska and Aletha Hagan and Husband Bryan of Culbertson, Nebraska; a brother, David Werner of Palisade, Nebraska; his sister Barbara (Werner) Claus and husband Joe of Texas; aunt and uncle Mary and John Oesau of Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving John are his grandchildren Dakota Hagan, Colten Hagen, Dalten Hagen, Emma Hagan, Landon Werner, Braxton Werner, Grayson Werner, Jersi Winkler, and Easton Winkler.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. 'Shorty' and Rose M. Werner; his wife, Tamara 'Tammy' L. Werner; his brother Kenneth 'Pete' Werner and his sister Patty Miller.
No visitation will be scheduled. John's wishes were for cremation.
A memorial has been suggested to the Werner Family for a future designation.
