Sharon Kay Sutton, age 84, of Oshkosh, Nebraska passed peacefully away early Friday morning May 14, 2021 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 19, 2021 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Scotty Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Hemingford Cemetery in Hemingford, NE.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Sharon Kay was born to Charles & Libbie Dufek of Hemingford, NE on February 17, 1937, and grew up on their family ranch/farm operation north of town. Sharon grew up enjoying tagging along behind her brother, Dallas, whom she looked up to in many ways. Sis (Dallas’s pet name for his little sister), whom he loved to prank, one of his favorites was getting her to climb up on top of the barn as well as on top of the windmill. Then he would holler for their mom and say “look what sis has done now!”
Dwain and Sharon met during their junior year of high school, Dwain an Alliance Bulldog and Sharon a Hemingford Bobcat. They just happened to play hooky from school on the same day and both ended up at the Alliance City Park, Dwain cruising up in his 1954 tan & white Buick Century and Sharon pulling in with her maroon and white 1954 Buick Special. The cars attracted them to each other, and the rest is history.
Dwain and Sharon were united in marriage on September 25th, 1955. They began their life together in Key West, FL while Dwain was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. Life brought them back to Nebraska to the Sutton Buggypole Ranch where they resided until 2003 when they retired and moved into Oshkosh, NE.
Sharon’s pride and joy were her family and home. She enjoyed working with her flowers in the yard, growing large vegetable gardens & canning her bounty. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends. In her quiet moments she loved reading. Sharon loved animals and always had a pet that became a member of the family.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Libbie; her brother, Dallas; and her niece, Sherry, (Mrs Don Hunter).
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dwain of Oshkosh, NE; daughter Shelley (Mark) Lammers of Paxton, NE; son, Doug (Sandy) Sutton of Kearney, NE; grandchildren Heidi (Brian) Meade of Omaha, NE, Brett (Shaun) Morrissey of Fayetteville AR, Mason (Tara) Lammers of Kearney; great- grandchildren, Libby, Xander and Phoebe Meade, Bentley and Penelope Morrissey, and Tripp and Cohen Lammers; and niece, Terry (Steve) Bonds of Scottsbluff, NE.
