Louis "Lou" Jay Goold (1950-2020)

Louis "Lou" Jay Goold, age 70, of Wellfleet, Nebraska died on September 20, 2020 at his home.  Lou was born on January 12, 1950 in Ogallala, Nebraska to Jay and Marie (Stone) Goold.

He grew up in Brule, Nebraska and graduated from Brule High School in 1968 and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Biology Degree in 1972.  Lou married Vicki Seickman on February 10, 1973.  To this union 3 children were born:  Jamie, Jennifer and Aaron.  Their family lived in Ogallala, Nebraska where he was a mechanic for Nebraska Public Power.  He married Becky Andresen on July 24, 1988 and the couple lived north of Hershey, Nebraska for several years until they moved north of Wellfleet, Nebraska.  Lou retired in 2013.  He had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and was renowned for his mechanical abilities with pan head engines.  He made many trips to Sturgis.  Lou loved the outdoors, taking his family camping often.  He had many friends and will be remembered as very loyal and treated them like family.  He was a very honest person, sometimes to a fault, and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his 3 children, Jamie Fitzpatrick of Sutherland, Nebraska, Jennifer (Eric) Gonzalez of Grant, Nebraska, and Aaron Goold of Ogallala, Nebraska; five grandchildren Teagan Morris Fitzpatrick, Eric John Gonzalez Jr, Ethan Mark Gonzalez, Adriana Gonzalez, and Alejandra Gonzalez; two sisters Carol (Milton) Talcott of Lincoln, Nebraska dna Shirley Eastwood of Brule, Nebraska; soul mate, Becky Goold; two step-sons Josh Vath of North Platte, Nebraska and Nathaniel Andresen of North Platte, Nebraska; step-grandson, Shya Guadtis of Curtis, Nebraska; and numerous other family members and many friends.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gerald and James.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 2, 2020 from noon until 7:00 p.m. (Central Time) at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home, 421 West 4th Street in North Platte, Nebraska.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Brule Cemetery in Brule, Nebraska with Rev. Jon M. Dickmander of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church officiating.  Following the service, a reception will be held at the Longhorn Bar in Sutherland, Nebraska.
