Darlene Ann Dizmang, 89, of Moorefield, Nebraska, died January 2, 2024 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
Darlene Dizmang was born on July 30, 1934 in Moorefield. The Lord took her January 2, 2024. She was the daughter of Vaughn and Esther Hand and had two sisters, Donna and Marge. Darlene grew up on the family farm north of Moorefield. She attended Moorefield elementary school and then graduated from Farnam High School in 1952.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time in the kitchen with her mom, grandma, sisters and friends then helping her dad on the farm with his cows and crops. She was married in 1957 and had two children: Tammy and Lorn. She raised Tammy and Lorn in Moorefield and at the family farm.
Darlene loved to garden, since she had a green thumb. She enjoyed quilting with her friends and relatives and also sewing and crocheting blankets. She loved reading and animals. After her father died she moved into Moorefield and lived next to her mom. She worked at the green house in Moorefield for a number of years until it closed. She then worked at the nursing home in Curtis as a cook and retired in 1999. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooked many delicious Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She will be missed.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Vaughn and Esther and her sister Donna.
Darlene is survived by her sister Marg Gates of Palisade, daughter Tammy Koch of North Platte and Tammy’s daughters Susan (Steve) Conrad of North Platte, Sarah (Shaun) Crawford of Hershey, Angie (Mitch) Mussleman of North Platte. Her son Lorn Dizmang of Moorefield and his children Vaughn Dizmang of Maywood and Heather Dizmang of North Platte. Darlene was also survived by six great grand kids: James Musselman, Samuel (Olivia) Musselman, Shane Musselman, Matthew Musselman, Jacob Koch, and Eric Halstead.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska; Monday, January 8, 2024, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with the family present from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
Services will be held at Moorefield Cemetery, January 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brian Nicklas officiating.
