Delsey K. Rishel, age 91, or North Platte, Nebraska passed away on March 26, 2023 at Great Plains Health. On September 29, 1941, she was born to Henry and Adeline (Miller) Meeker in Onawa, Iowa.
Raised in Onawa, Iowa, Delsey graduated from high school and then moved moved to Sturgis, South Dakota where she met Cullen Rishel. They were married on September 3, 1965 in Hartington, Nebraska. Three sons were welcomed to the world from this union: Vernon, Bob, and Mark. The couple moved to North Platte, where they worked and raised the boys.
Delsey worked briefly in the restaurant industry before receiving certification to work as a dietary manager at both the North Platte Senior Center and North Platte Care Center. Known for her exceptional cooking and baking, Delsey was especially good at baking zucchini bread, cookies, and candies. She was an outdoors woman, often found fishing or just relaxing on the patio with her dogs, King, Lady, and Ellie May. Delsey was a long-time member of the Salvation Army. She was always so compassionate, kind, and caring; always willing to help those in need.
Survivors include her three sons, Vernon, Bob and Mark; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jessica, Andrew, Jordan, and Brandon (Ashlie); great grandchildren, Ian, Kamaya, Kabel, Aaliyah, and Alex; as well as other family and several friends.
Those preceding Delsey in death are her parents; her husband, Cullen; and her siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 1020 N. Adams Avenue in North Platte, Nebraska with Major Lynete Poff officiating. Inurnment will take place on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
