Janette Lee Marks passed away April 20th, 2024 at Aseracare Hospice in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 82. She was born November 7th, 1941, in McCook, NE to Harold and Elsie Weiss. She attended and graduated from McCook High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Willard Marks on December 16, 1962, in McCook. To this union 4 children were born: Daniel, Jon, Sheila, and Melissa.
Janette worked at district 8 helping with a Special need child. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing the organ and was the “queen” of garage sales. Janette enjoyed family time, traveling to Denver, Black Hills, and Branson. The kid’s friends would visit, and all called her mom. She was known for her favorite meal of fried chicken.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elsie, a son, Daniel, sister, Barbara (Wayne) Baker and her in-laws, Floyd, and Flora Marks.
Janette is survived by her husband Willard, one son, Jon Marks of Culbertson, and two daughters, Sheila (Chris) Hull of Culbertson, and Melissa (Chris) Craig of Oberlin, KS, and one grandchild, Erin Marks.
Graveside services for Janette will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Grove Cemetery south of Culbertson. Pastor Johnny Walker will provide words of comfort.
Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com. Memorial in Janette's name may be given to her family for later designation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
