Jerome Reinert (The Can Man) passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the senior living choices in Curtis, Nebraska on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Jerome was born February 16, 1967 in Faith, South Dakota. He graduated ESU 16 in North Platte in 1982. He enjoyed gathering cans from local businesses, where he was then nicknames "the can man." Jerome never met a stranger, every person to him was just a friend he hadn't met yet.
Jerome will be missed by mother Anita McMurry of Maywood, Step-Father Robert Wayne McMurry of North Platte, sister Donna Benell, niece Lacie Benell, nephews Jesse Benell all of Maywood and Brett (Molly) Benell of Brady and two grand-nieces, Ashten and Willow Benell as well as other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Helen Reinert and sister Diane McMurry Cleveland Evans.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church with lunch reception to follow.
