NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The Schmidt Foundation, the foundation arm of Eagle Media, has donated $20,000 to the Prairie Arts Center in North Platte, providing a significant boost to the non-profit’s mission of supporting the arts in the region.
The Prairie Arts Center, located in the historic 1913 Federal Building at Fifth and Jeffers, is a community hub for creativity and culture. The center offers art classes, hosts exhibitions, and holds various events throughout the year to encourage artistic expression and engagement.
“This generous gift from the Schmidt Foundation helps us continue offering opportunities for local artists and art lovers to connect and create,” said Holly Carlini from the Prairie Arts Center. “We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support of the arts in our community.”
The donation will support programming and preservation efforts at the center, which first opened its main floor in 2015 after extensive renovations to the historic structure. The building had previously served as a U.S. Post Office and later housed Mid-Plains Community College until 2000.
The Schmidt Foundation, based in Kansas and affiliated with Eagle Media, is known for supporting local organizations and initiatives that enhance education, culture, and quality of life in the communities they serve.
