Nebraska GOP D3 Leader Chris Vail and State Education Leader Elizabeth Tegtmeier to Speak at January Lincoln County GOP Meeting

North Platte, NE — The Lincoln County Republican Party invites members, guests, and community supporters to attend its Monthly Meeting on Monday, January 19, 2026, featuring guest speakers Chris Vail, Third District Chair for the Nebraska Republican Party, and Elizabeth Tegtmeier, member of the Nebraska State Board of Education.

The meeting will be held at the Eagles Club, 620 North Chestnut Street, North Platte, with a 6:00 p.m. social hour followed by the 6:30 p.m. business meeting. Chris Vail will provide an overview of the delegate process and explain how interested Republicans can register to serve as delegates. Her presentation will offer practical guidance for individuals seeking to become more involved in party leadership.

Elizabeth Tegtmeier will provide an update on the current teacher shortage in Nebraska, highlight literacy initiatives underway across Western Nebraska, and discuss the newly adopted Nebraska Department of Education Strategic Plan. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions following her presentation.

Elected to the Nebraska State Board of Education in 2022, has focused on addressing Nebraska’s teacher shortage and improving academic outcomes statewide. Under her leadership, the Nebraska Department of Education has secured more than $80 million in federal and private grant funding to support literacy efforts. She has also worked to hold the department accountable for increasing third-grade literacy rates by 30 percent at priority schools. In addition, Tegtmeier represents Nebraska on the National Association of State Boards of Education.
