Evelyn M. Turpen, 91, of North Platte, NE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Linden Court.
Evelyn was born on January 5, 1933 in her Aunt’s home in Tryon, NE the daughter of Clarence R. and Carrie M. (Sivits) Turpen.
Evelyn was born with cerebral palsy and overcame many obstacles in her life. She was able to attend school and graduated from North Platte High School in 1953. She worked in the housekeeping department of the Great Plains hospital for twenty-two years. She played the piano, enjoyed music, angels, and was a faithful Christian. Evelyn was blessed to live at Linden Estates and Linden Court during her final years and considered all her nurses and caregivers as part of her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Carrie, brother, Gerald Turpen, sisters, Helen DuTemple and Twilla Brott.
She is survived by three nieces, a nephew, and many devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Elder Wayne Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
