On September 27, 2024, Shawn Rossell peacefully passed away at home in North Platte with his family by his side.  He was 59 years old.

Shawn, son of Gordon and Susan Rossell, was born January 14, 1965, at Gothenburg where he grew up.  After graduating from Gothenburg High School he worked at Jensen's Jack & Jill.

On August 20, 1988, Shawn married Rebecca Cler in Gothenburg where they lived before moving to North Platte.

In 1989 Shawn became a police officer and worked in Gothenburg and North Platte.  He then became an electrician for Platte Valley Electric in North Platte and eventually earned his Associates Degree and went to work at Eakes as a technician.  In 2011 he and Becky started Rossell's Rental Xpress.

Shawn was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Autism Society of Nebraska in North Platte, and the Eagles.  He loved astronomy, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing and sports, especially football and the Dallas Cowboys.

Shawn was a loving and dedicated family man who would do anything for his family.  He will be forever missed but leaves us with happy memories and a love for the stars.

He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Rossell; grandparents, Woodrow and Veral Rossell and Richard and Thelma Graham.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Rossell of Gothenburg; his wife, Becky, and their children, Tyler and Katelyn, all of North Platte; brothers, Randy (Cressy) and Corey (Amanda) of Gothenburg; and several nieces, nephews and other family.

Service is 3 p.m., Thursday, October 3, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Visitation is Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and with family present from 4-6 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel.  Cremation will follow services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Gift of Hope or ASN North Platte Support Group.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
