Ronald Haertel, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on August 18, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
Ron was born and raised in North Platte. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1968 and from Hastings College in 1972. He then worked in Lincoln, Nebraska for several years before retiring to North Platte. Ron was a joy to be around and his family and friends will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale & Irene Haertel.
Survivors include his sister, Kathy (Leo) Birkby and niece, Stacey (Cory) Vandivert all of Scottsdale, AZ; a nephew, Scott (Jen) Birkby of Colorado Springs, CO; and other family.
