North Platte Police Investigating String of Vehicle Thefts, Firearm Reported Stolen

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle thefts that occurred in the early morning hours of April 15. Authorities say an unknown individual entered multiple unlocked vehicles between the 2000 and 1700 blocks of East D Street around 3 a.m., stealing several items, including a .45 caliber handgun.

Police are urging residents in the area to review any surveillance footage that may assist in identifying the suspect.

“If you have cameras in the area, please check your footage around that time to see if you captured any images of the suspect,” the department said in a statement.
