    Kenneth L. "Ken" Dugger passed away unexpectedly at his home in McCook, NE on August 7, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born September 29, 1946 in McCook to Jack Dugger and Geri (Dolan) Dugger. He spent his youth in Cambridge, NE, and later obtained his higher education in Stoneham, CO.

    Ken entered the United States Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a proud Veteran, serving in an Army field artillery unit during Vietnam.

    Ken married Carol Wilson on September 26, 1968 in McCook. The young couple soon moved to Greeley, CO where Ken opened two Texaco service stations with his Dad. Later, the family moved to Forest Grove, OR where Ken worked as a mechanic for Hamby Chevrolet until the family returned to McCook in 1983. Ken then worked for Klein's Motor & Electric, before moving to Parker Hannifin until his retirement in 2008.

    Ken was a lifetime member of the VFW, Men's Bowling Association, past member of the McCook Elk's Lodge, and past president of the Forest Grove Youth Baseball and Junior Baseball Association. He loved hunting, and later loved fishing, boating, and camping with his family.

    Ken leaves behind his wife of nearly 56 years, Carol (Wilson) Dugger. He is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Dugger, Jr. and wife, Christy; his daughter, Stacey Dugger Samples and husband, Chris; and five grandchildren: Seth, Adam, Miranda and her husband, Garrick, Ellie, and Elijah. He also had the joy of knowing his two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Mackenzie. Ken's sister, Joann Taylor and husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Richard Wilson and wife, Jean; sister-in-law, Betty Leibrandt; sister-in-law, Julee Wilson; special friends, Terry and Jana Sides and Dick and Claudia Stanton; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his brother, Robert Dugger and his wife, Sharon; and niece Kimberly Dugger Wayman.

    Ken's life was marked by his commitment to his family, his country, and his community, and he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

    Cremation was chosen and memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday morning, August 13, 2024 at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating.  Burial with full military honors in the St. Catherine Cemetery in Indianola will follow services.
