UPDATE 11am CDT on May 26, 2023 - Highways 6 and 34 are now open.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb - Highways in southwest Nebraska are closed due to overnight flooding. Highways 61 between Imperial and Benkelman, Highway 6 from Imperial to Palisade, and Highway 34 from Benkelman to Trenton remain closed Friday morning.

Reports 20 miles north of Benkelman were that 8 feet of water were over portions of the highway.
