Myra Elizabeth Fackler, 95, of Wellfleet, Nebraska, passed away on March 14, 2026, at The Maples of Centennial Park Care Center in North Platte.

Myra and her twin sister, Mildred, were born on June 29, 1930, in Mullen, Nebraska, to Robert and Elsie (Reigle) Prentice. She was raised in southern Cherry County and attended grade school there. Myra later attended high school in Mullen, graduating with the Class of 1948.

On November 29, 1948, Myra married Roy Orland Fackler of Thedford, Nebraska, in Oberlin, Kansas. They made their home north of Thedford. In 1976, they moved to North Platte.

Myra enjoyed sewing, making quilts and rag rugs. She also loved planting flowers and raising a garden. She volunteered with the North Platte Area RSVP, devoting many years of service to the Thrift Store, where she received her 30-year volunteer award in December 2022.

Myra and Roy enjoyed dancing and were members of the North Platte Dance Club. They also helped Gateway Realty and Glen Helberg with auctions for many years, forming numerous friendships along the way.

In 1995, they moved to Wellfleet.

Myra is survived by her twin sister, Mildred Szwanek of Beatrice, Nebraska; two daughters, Shirley (Lloyd) McIntosh of Thedford and Elsie (Monty) Kemp of North Platte; and three sons, James of Wellfleet, John (Laurie) of Thedford, and Jerry of Wellfleet.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Layne, Waylon, Harlee, Brent, Chad, Heather, Whitney, Caycee, Shawna, Tiffany, Kristan, Tanya, and Katrina; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; her sister, Evelyn; her brothers, Wayne, Tom, and Robert; and her grandson, Jesse McIntosh.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:30 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Wellfleet Fire Department.
