Visit North Platte

(North Platte, Nebraska) – Since its inception in 2006, Visit North Platte has awarded more than $5.86 million in funding to Lincoln County not-for-profit organizations for brick and mortar improvements and expansions to local attractions and visitor services. The Improvement Fund Grant process is governed by the Nebraska Visitors Development Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §81-3701 through 81-3724, et seq.

To be considered for Improvement Funds, the first step is to submit an Intent to Apply letter to Visit North Platte no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2025. This letter should include: an estimate of the grant amount you plan to request, the total cost of your project, a brief description of the proposed project, and the organizations involved in the project.

Throughout April, Visit North Platte staff will meet with applicants who submitted an Intent to Apply letter. These meetings will help determine project eligibility under the Nebraska Visitors Development Act guidelines. Following this step, applications will be made available only to eligible participants and must be submitted by Thursday, July 31, 2025.

In August, each project will present to the Visit North Platte Board of Directors at their meeting on August 27, 2025. Award decisions will be announced within 10 business days after the meeting.

Please note, organizations that fail to submit an Intent to Apply letter by the April 1 deadline, or their completed application by July 31, will not be eligible for Improvement Funds. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) entities, not-for-profits, and divisions of local government.
