GRAND ISLAND, Neb.-The 15th annual Nebraska State High School Cheer & Dance Championships are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 17 through Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island
Cheerleading categories for classes A and B will compete on Thursday as one session. The cheerleading competition will continue Friday for the first session in Classes C1, C2 and D. Dance categories will begin within the second session Friday for classes C2 and D. Class C1 Dance will compete Saturday morning within the first session. Classes A & B Dance will compete in the second session Saturday. Detailed schedules of the performances are posted at http://www.ncacoach.org/cheerdance.php. Championship results will also be posted at the same location at the conclusion of each day’s overall competition.
This annual event serves as a championship platform for high school student- athletes, but also serves as a significant fundraising event for the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame Foundation, located in Lincoln. Tickets can be purchased for $10 per general admission seat by session and children ages 2 and under may lap sit for free. No onsite ticket sales will be available. The arena will be cleared after each session. Live online streaming will be available at $20 per day and can be purchased HERE.
The event will follow any local or state COVID-19 health restrictions that may be in place at the time of the event. Participants and fans are encouraged to wear and practice social distancing when possible.
Media Credentials: If your media outlet would like to cover this event, please enter the facility through the south doors of the Bosselman Conference Center located within the Heartland Events Center. The event staff will provide you with a media lanyard for the purpose of capturing photos or video. Any interviews of student-athletes or coaches must take place on the concourse level. Please note, photography or video created for the purpose of monetary sales or distribution outside of the contracted vendors (Callam Sports Photography & Mr. Video) is strictly prohibited.
