Donald Russell Jensen, age 76, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on August 18, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte. He was born on January 19, 1947 to Nels and Esther (Philpot) Jensen in Arnold, Nebraska.
Donald was united in marriage to Betty Klauz in 1965. To this union, a son, Daniel Jensen, was born. Don served in the U.S. Army from March 16, 1956 to February 27, 1968. After he returned from the service, he moved to Lexington, Nebraska where he worked at New Holland. Later he moved to Norht Platte, Nebraska where he was employed by Cement Products, Paulson, and then he worked for the City of North Platte where he retired from.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Jensen of Ralston, NE; granddaughter, Sarah Jensen of Ralston, NE; sister, Dorene Smith of North Platte, NE; along with many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents, Nels and Esther; a sister, Leretta Smith; and a brother, Robert Jensen.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska. Pastor Ryan Alexander will be officiating.
Book signing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE, who is in charge of arrangements.
