Marlene Jeanne Peregrine, 88, passed away September 6, 2024, in North Platte, Nebraska. She was born on April 4, 1936, in Gothenburg to Albert and Hazel Hilton. Marlene attended Sutherland High School where she was involved in band and loved reading and music. In her senior year Marlene was presented as Valedictorian and graduated with the Class of 1954.
On October 17, 1954, Marlene married Dale Peregrine of North Platte. To this union 3 children were born: Rhonda, Cynthia and Robbie. In 1965 they moved to Hershey where Marlene and Dale raised their children.
Marlene was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 9, 1952, and was a faithful witness for 72 years until her passing. She was associated with the North Platte Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Marlene served as a regular pioneer for a short time and was a diligent student of the Bible. She loved to read and study Bible prophecy and many other passages and enjoyed teaching and sharing the Bible's hope with others.
Marlene also loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She played the piano for the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses meetings for many years.
Marlene is survived by her children and their spouses: Rhonda and James Sinclair, of North Platte, Cynthia and Louis Carpio of Eaton, CO, and Robbie and Susan Peregrine of Heartwell, NE; and her brother, Dennis (Ann) Hilton of Hershey. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren and their spouses: Melissa and Michael Murphy, Joel and Heather Sinclair and Jared and Mira Sinclair; as well as 4 great grandchildren: Emma, Jace, Haley and Chelsea; and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents Albert and Hazel Hilton; and brothers and their wives, Loren and Carol Hilton, and Larry and Millie Hilton.
Marlene was a Special, Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend, she will surely be missed but We all look forward to seeing her very soon in the promised New World to come.
