LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska School Activities Association released the Class D1 and D2 football playoff brackets over the weekend, officially setting the field for the state’s eight-man divisions.
In Class D1, Shelby-Rising City earned the top overall seed, while Dundy County-Stratton enters as the area’s highest seed at No. 2. The Tigers will host Elkhorn Valley in Benkelman on Thursday, Oct. 23, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
Also representing the area in Class D1, North Platte St. Pat’s received the No. 21 seed and will travel to Johnson-Brock. Perkins County, seeded 23rd, heads to Thayer Central.
In Class D2, Howells-Dodge leads the bracket as the No. 1 seed. Hitchcock County is the top area qualifier at No. 3 and will host Franklin in Trenton Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Other area teams in the D2 playoffs include Mullen, Sandhills/Thedford, and Maxwell.
All Class D1 and D2 playoff games are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23. Classes A, B, C1, C2, and Six-Man teams will wrap up their regular seasons this week before beginning postseason play on Oct.
