
Ginger Lou Smith, age 54, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on January 20, 2021 at UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on January 1, 1967 in North Platte to John & Patricia (Winder) Daigger.
Ginger graduated from McPherson County High School in 1985. she then went on to Grand Island Business School in 1987 and graduated with a bachelor's degree. On June 3, 2015, Ginger married Tory Smith and they combined their families with six children: elizabeth, Jessy, Tyler, Amanda, Ray and Andy.
Ginger enjoyed fishing and always caught more than her husband. She loved family camping trips and canoeing. Ginger had an infectious laugh and always kept a positive attitude. Those that knew her could locate her anywhere with her laugh. She was a mother hen that took care of everyone in her life. She made great omelets and delicious pies.
Ginger was a long-time member of the Eagle's, and the Eagle's were a second family to her. She was elected "Mother of the Year" at the Eagle's in 2015. Ginger owned and operated a lawn care business and took great pride in her customers' lawns.
Survivors include her husband, Tory; children Elizabeth (Corey) Hoskins and Jessy Daigger; stepchildren Amanda (Allen) Scott, Ray (Lea) Smith, and Andy (Krista) Smith; parents John and Patricia Daigger, all of North Platte, NE; sisters, Mary Harden of Cheyenne, WY, Betty (Frank) Daigger-O'Neil of Jacksonville, FL, Gladys (Mike) Henry, and Ruth (David) Orr of North Platte, NE; an uncle Ted Daigger of North Platte, NE; 8 grandchildren, including Nakita; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tyler Daigger; grandparents, Ted & Helen Daigger Sr. and Betty & Jim Winder.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. Bryan Ernest as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at North Platte Cemetery.
Those wishing to sign the book may do so from noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be live-streamed on the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
