At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 12 multiple officers from the Chadron Police Department responded to the Chadron Federal Credit Union at 126 East Third Street for an alarm. The bank had been robbed by an unknown male subject. The male walked in to the bank and had a conversation with a teller before drawing a handgun from his hooded sweatshirt and demanding money. After receiving the money, the suspect exited the bank and went northeast on foot. The area was canvased for the suspect and potential evidence.
The Chadron Police Department put out a code red alert to notify the community and local businesses. A social media post was also made requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect and to notify law enforcement if he was spotted.
The attached photo is from surveillance footage and the suspect remains at large. We are asking for the communities’ assistance in identifying the suspect. If anyone believes they know who the suspect is, or if anyone has any information on seeing the subject on the date of the robbery, call the Chadron Police Department at 308-432-0510.
