North Platte, Nebraska - On October 12th & 13th, the best of Nebraska High School Class C girls golfers will unite in North Platte for the state championship golf tournament. The two-day event will draw around 120 golfers from across the state to the Lake Maloney Golf Course. Along with the participants, we are expecting many friends and family to travel alongside their girls to support them. Visit North Platte is seeking volunteers to assist in three areas: scoring monitors, spotters, and alternates.

One of the highly sought-after volunteer positions is for scoring monitors. These monitors will accompany athletes, record the hole-by-hole strokes of each golfer and help with the speed of play by watching tee shots and looking for lost balls. Scoring monitors are requested not to make any rulings. At least thirty scoring monitors are needed for each day of the tournament.

Another volunteer opportunity is a Spotter. As a Spotter, you will be assigned to monitor a designated area of the golf course to help golfers find their balls after they’ve taken their shots. Spotters are allowed to bring lawn chairs for their volunteer shift. Six to nine spotters will be needed each day.

You may also sign up to be an alternate for either volunteer position. We cannot always predict the number of volunteers needed for a state competition, we just know it takes a small army. Sometimes, even on the day of the tournament, we have volunteers call in sick or have something come up. By being an alternate, you agree to keep your schedule open on those two days, in case we need you for an open position.
