
Ronald C. Beisner, Sr., age 81, of North Platte, Nebraska died unexpectedly on November 16, 2020, while at Faith Regional Health in Norfolk.
Ron was born March 18, 1939, to Clyne and Hilda (Haskins) Beisner in
North Platte where he resided all his life. He graduated from high
school in 1957 then worked for Fairmont Dairy and Frito Lay before
starting his career with Municipal Light and Water, which lasted until he
retired as Supervisor of the Service Department. Back in the days, Ron
was also the projectionist at the Fox Theater and Pawnee Drive-in.
On November 17, 1957, Ron married the love of his life, Sharon Kay
Leonhardt, in Sutherland, Nebraska and they made their home in North Platte. They raised three children and enjoyed 61 years together until Sharon's death last year.
Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eagles Aeries #2839 and the Flatlander Car Club. He liked building clocks, his old cars and being around his buddies. Ron especially loved his wife, she was his
world, and they enjoyed traveling together.
He leaves behind his children, Ron, Jr. (Kathy) Beisner and Lisa McNeel,
of North Platte, Nebraska and Rick, Sr. (Sally) Beisner, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeri (Gary) Funk, of Sutherland; brothers-in-law, Doug (Debbie) Leonhardt, of Lake Havasu, AZ and Donnie (Tammy) Leonhardt, of Azle, TX; as well as other family.
Along with his wife, Sharon, Ron was preceded in death by his parents,
Clyne and Hilda; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Harold Chapman,
Sr.; and nephew, Harold Chapman, Jr.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the
North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be for family only. The
memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements. For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and posted to the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Mid Plains Auto Mechanic Scholarship.
