From August 16th to September 1st, 2025, the North Platte Police Department participated in a Nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over impaired driving campaign sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Department wide, NPPD officers initiated 146 traffic contacts. Forty-two traffic citations were issued. Citations included seven for speeding, two for Leaving the scene of an accident, eighteen for registration/insurance violations and two for seatbelt violations. Eight arrests were made for DUI-Alcohol, one a felony DUI offense. Two people were arrested for Driving Under Suspension. Three people were arrested for open containers of alcohol. One minor was cited for being in possession of alcohol. Seven people were taken into custody for arrest warrants.
