Margaret Sughroue entered eternal life on February 23, 2024 in Wahoo, NE surrounded by family.
Margaret Francis (Beeson) Sughroue was born February 13th, 1950 to Ed & Nellie (Cozad) Beeson in Yankton, SD. She graduated from St Helen’s High School in 1968. Margaret then pursued a Degree in Nursing, graduating from Boise State in 1970.
Her nursing career was spent in Portland, Denver, McCook, and Arapahoe. While in Denver, Margaret was introduced to a coworker’s brother, Ed. The two started dating and 7 months later they were united in holy matrimony on October 23, 1976. They lived in Denver for three years and then moved to McCook, NE. Their union brought 4 children: Amy, Andrew, Fr Adam, & Alex.
Margaret and family attended St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Margaret was also a member of St Theresa’s Circle. Her Catholic faith was a central part of her life. The family spent time on walks, going on vacations to visit family, spent time with one another and played a lot of cards. It was common to be out to dinner and have someone stop by the table to comment on how well Margaret took care of them or a loved one when they were in the hospital. Margaret will always be remembered for the love and care she showed to her patients. After retiring from nursing Margaret kept busy volunteering at the Bargain Bazaar. She always had a quick wit and lots of love for her family and friends. Raising 4 children, working, doing housework, and cooking, she was a force not to be reckoned with. A constant in Margaret's life was writing letters, thank you notes, or simply letting someone know that someone is thinking of them. Margaret suffered greatly because of Parkinson’s but did so with inspiring grace.
Surviving members of Margaret’s family are: husband Ed of McCook, daughter Amy Sughroue of Omaha, sons Fr Adam Sughroue of the David City Area, Alex and Dana Sughroue, & the light of her life, granddaughter Dakota of Fremont, NE; brother; Jerry, sisters; Rosemary (Bill), Joan (Vic) Georgene (Jack), Theresa (Donald), and Jeanmarie, nieces and nephews.
