Marci was born on May 22, 1969, to Bill and Jean (Ermarine) McArtor in Venango, NE. She was the oldest of three children, with younger brother John, and youngest sister Marla. As a child, Marci was very athletic and loved playing sports, she even won an award for being the most aggressive player. Marci was a fierce protector of her siblings and stood up for them when others were in the wrong. Growing up, Marci was stubborn and strong-willed, which carried over into adulthood. She carved her own path in life and did things her way and on her own time.

Marci graduated from Venango High School in 1987. She attended Mid-Plains Community College, where she met the father of her two children, Glenn Neighbors, Jr. She was a devoted mother, sister, friend, and caring for her children was her biggest achievement in life. She made life-long friends during her time working at Burger King and Wendy’s. In 2019, she started as food service manager at the Hall County Jail (Summit) where she made new connections and friends quickly became family.

Marci was known for her generosity and love. She had a “go big or go home” mentality, especially when it came to gift-giving. There were numerous holidays where Marci went above and beyond by filling every inch of space with gifts for those she loved. As an avid couponer, she brought that same energy into finding the best deals and building a stockpile of home goods. You often left her house with a care package of home essentials. Marci was a passionate and skilled DIY-er with an extensive collection of crafting supplies. From t-shirts and decals to tumblers and resin art, she had the dream craft room. Not only did she have the gadgets to make handmade projects, but she also had the metric ton of glitter to make all of her art sparkle.

She is survived by her children: Derrick (Paige) Neighbors of North Platte, NE, Allyson (Terry) Salyer of Geneva, NE; grandchildren: Maicy, TJ, and Dakota Salyer of Geneva, NE; father, Bill McArtor of Grand Island, NE, sister, Marla (Chris) Lambert of Grand Island, NE; brother, Jon (Michele) McArtor of Rainbow, TX, nieces: Katelyn (Michael) Livezey of Rainbow, TX, Sarah Ward of Rainbow, TX, Alyssa Ward of Rainbow, TX, Trista (Dustin) Gelvin of Bergman, AR; nephew, Jon (Erin) Lambert of Kearney, NE; uncle, Jerry (Carolyn) McArtor of Grant, NE; aunt, Kathy Hartman of Kimball, NE; her beloved dog, Dasie; as well as numerous family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean McArtor; grandparents: Harold and Marilyn Emarine, Vance and Esther McArtor, Arlene Emarine; great aunt, Nanny Fenwick, and two nieces and a nephew (Marla).
