
Frank Lynn Carland, 64, of North Platte passed away Tuesday, August 31st at his home.
Frank was born August 22nd, 1957 to Charles and Mary Carland in Omaha. He grew up in North Platte and earned his GED at Mid Plains Community College.
Frank married Katie Jefferson and from this union there were three children, Misty, April and Crystal.
On October 22nd, 1989 Frank married the love of his life, Sandi, in North Platte. From this union Frank gained two more daughters, Amber and Crystal.
Frank graduated from Mid Plains Community College in 1994 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and he was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was a dedicated long-time member of Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful. Frank worked for the City of North Platte from 1986 to 2016 when he had to retire due to his health.
Frank will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, infectious laugh and unconditional love. He never knew a stranger and would undoubtedly greet you with a smile and a “How are you doing?” anytime, anywhere. No one ever had to question how much he loved his family or how proud he was of them. He was always looking out for all of them even until his very last day. His family will miss him more than words could ever explain.
Frank was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, in-laws, siblings, a dear friend Laura, his “partner in crime” and cousin Oopie and grandson Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Sandi; daughters, Misty (Fred) Murphy, April (Rodney) Doherty, Crystal (Bruce) Carland, Amber Miller, and Crystal (Matt) Welch; grandchildren, Fred Jr (Elizabeth), Jeffery, Amanda, and Ashley Murphy, Conor and Carlee Doherty, Patrick Carland. Bailee, Casidee and Tanner (“Oopie”) Miller, Ava, Jade and Jack Welch; five great-grandchildren; and many many more family members and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday September 3, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Sipes officiating. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
